It's A Wonderful Life - A

Live Radio Play

Adapted by Joe Landry

This beloved American holiday classic comes to

captivating life as a live 1940's radio broadcast.

Sunday October 9, 2016 .............. 6:30-8:30 pm

Monday October 10, 2016 .................... 8-10 pm

Director:  Mike Kotze

The show is an old radio-style adaptation of the classic film, performed by actors with scripts in hand, in front of microphones.  A Foley artist will create sound effects, and a keyboard player will provide live musical accompaniment.

A small group of actors will portray dozens of characters, so vocal versatility is a must!  At the audition, actors will read scenes from the play, and be asked to switch roles frequently.

Here is the cast breakdown from the script.  We will likely break up some of the multiple role assignments differently, to provide opportunities for more actors.

JAKE LAURENTS, in his 20s/30s
plays George Bailey/Young George

FREDDIE FILMORE, in his 30s-50s
plays Announcer, Joseph, Mr. Gower, Henry F. Potter, Uncle Billy Bailey, Ernie, Pete Bailey (Child), Mr. Bailey, Old Man Collins, Ed, Man, Guiseppe Martini, Nick, Bridge Keeper, Binky

HARRY "JAZZBO" HEYWOOD, in his 30s/40s
plays Harry Bailey/Young Harry, Bert the Cop, Clarence Oddbody, As-2, Sam Wainwright, Lawyer, Dr. Campbell, Randall, Tom, Man 2, Charlie, Carter, Horace the Bank Teller, Tommy Bailey (Child), Mr. Welch

SALLY APPLEWHITE, in her 20s/30s
plays Mary Hatch Bailey/Young Mary

LANA SHERWOOD, in her 30s/40s
plays Violet Bick/Young Violet, Matilda, Ruth Dakin Bailey, Rose Bailey, Mrs. Hatch, Passervy at Run on Bank, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Davis, Schultz, Janie Bailey (Child), Zuzu Bailey (Child)

In addition, we are looking to cast the aformentioned Foley artist.  This role may not have any lines, but is a prominent and very fun part of the show, so if you are good at making noise, this may be your big break!
